Stories of Migration, Life, Change in Four Toronto Neighbourhoods

Lead Curator

Toronto Ward Museum

This exhibition is a joint initiative by the Toronto Ward Museum and Toronto Public Library, celebrating a program dedicated to capturing the civic life and placemaking stories from four Toronto neighborhoods: Agincourt, Parkdale, Regent Park, and Victoria Park.

The project conducted over 100 extensive oral history interviews with community members who are newcomers, immigrants, racialized individuals, and Indigenous people. Through these conversations, participants shared experiences of displacement, migration, arrival, and resilience. The project uncovered rich insights into community networks, grassroots organizations, and essential local landmarks, while also capturing the sounds, sights, smells, and connections that give each neighborhood its sense of home.
